A room you don't ask about.
There is a smaller house inside the house. Most people never learn it is there. That is the arrangement.
The Lounge is not a membership. It is not a list you can join or a door with a name on it. It is a way of being known to us — quietly, and by people who were themselves known to us first.
We won't describe what happens here. Partly because discretion is the whole point, and partly because it is different for everyone who is brought in. What we will say is that it is slower, more private, and considerably harder to reach than anything else the house does.
You won't find us. You'll be sent.
If you have read this far and recognise the tone, you may already understand how it works. Someone speaks for you. A conversation is had. Nothing is announced, and no one is told no in a way that stings. Isolation creates identity — and the room keeps its shape by staying small.
By introductionNot application
You do not put yourself forward. Someone already inside puts your name where we will see it.
UnhurriedBy design
There is no calendar to beat and no place to be seen. The room runs on the off-hours.
DiscretionBoth ways
We keep quiet about you. You keep quiet about here. It has always worked precisely this way.
You won't find us. You'll be sent.
If you are meant to be here, you will be.
Some rooms are entered
only when you're sent.
If you believe you'd belong here, say so — quietly. We read everything. We answer very little.
